Our Story
Kids After Hours started in 1989 with just 22 kids at Burtonsville Elementary and one big idea: create a safe, fun, and welcoming space for children to grow, play, and belong. Today, we’re proud to serve thousands of families across over 27 locations in Montgomery and Anne Arundel Counties.
Founded by Bob and Tammy Sickels, K.A.H. is still a family-run program rooted in the same core values:

At K.A.H., kids explore creativity, build friendships, and learn through hands-on activities, from STEAM and arts & crafts to outdoor play and team-building clubs. We’re known for our incredible staff, many of whom were once K.A.H. kids themselves, and for creating joyful spaces where every child feels seen, supported, and excited to return.
For over 35 years, we’ve built more than programs- we’ve built a community. And we can’t wait to welcome your family into it.
